Far Cry 2

Far cry 2, a game long anticipated and turned out to have nothing to do with the first game, but in my opinion was still good. This is my Personal reveiw of the game, if you have questions then there is a comment section below.

Gameplay.
Far cry 2 is a first person shooter that i would compare to something like The Grand theft auto series or saints row series but in a first person veiw. The game map is about 50 quare km and is completely open and there are all kinds of missions to choose from. There are story missions(which are reqired to move the game progression along), medicine missions(required to keep your malaria in check, otherwise you get sick and die), and other freelancer missions like assination missions and arm's dealer missions which both require the destruction of a place/vehicule or killing of someone. payment in game is through diamonds which you use to buy and upgrade weapons, but are only available through story missions.

Story.
The story in far cry 2 is that your a mercenary. there are different characters to choose from but all in all the game stays more a less the same. The main story is that you have been ordered to kill "The Jackal", an arms dealer that is supplying the two factions in country that are fighting each other. you end up sick with malaria and the jackal finds you, but you failed the mission or so he says. after a unknown period of time you wake up and fight your way out of the town and get to finding the jackal.

Overall.
Far cry is a enjoyable game, but at times can be boring and even frustrating. An example of this would be how much driving you do and some of the enemy spawn points. The problem i had was driving half way across the world just to get to the place and end up getting shot in the back. This problem isn't a huge one but is to be noted. Otherwise the game runs smoothly and the shooting is fluent.

metro last light Advertisment

This is a trailer for an upcoming game, Metro last light. This trailer uses different colors and styles to make the game more interesting and get people to wonder what it will be like. Mostly darker colors and shades are used in the game to establish a dark, somewhat sad, dying world. The game is set in a world 21 years after a nuclear war. the people live in the metro tunnels because the surface in mostly poisonous and requires a gas mask if you wish to get somewhere outside the metro. From what I've heard the game is set 1 year after the first game Metro 2033 and a civil war has started for control of the tunnels. It is also clear that the nuclear winter has started to end as in the trailer you can see there's very little, to no snow anymore. In the game from what I'm guessing the world has started to return to a more normal weathered state and the changes in the world are changing the people and causing the struggle for power, as i would think who ever controls the tunnels might have a chance at controlling the surface.

Dead Space 2 Review

Released January 25 in North America (Canada and the United states.)

Game play style

dead space 2 is a action horror video game. It's and over the shoulder 3rd person shooter which includes zero gravity game play in certain sections of the game and the main theme of the game is what the developers have deemed as "strategic dismemberment". This tactic is new to the gaming world as most games these days are just the basic shoot and enemy and he dies, in dead space the enemies you face are the reanimated corpses of the dead that have been bent and broken into new disgusting forms. The only way to really kill these creatures is to literally cut them down limb by limb. Basic shooter tactics like head shots and body shot are of almost no use, your best chance at survival is to cut/shoot off a leg, then an arm or the head. Use this tactic as necessary. Weapons in dead space 2 are not all intended for killing, but are simply mining tools or researching tool that have been reconfigured for use as a weapons. An example would be the Plasma cutter. A high energy cutting tool used for cutting metal and other materials when necessary. in game it serves as the basic pistol of the game but can be swapped out for another weapon according to your personal preferences.The HUD (heads up display) is all displayed in game and on your character via a health meter on your characters back or holographic displays.

Storyline.
The story of dead space 2 is a  one of a bleak future, by the 25th century earths last resources have been completely depleted. Humanity casts out into that giant void of space in search of resources on other worlds and thus starts the Planet cracking era. In the 26th century is where the game is set, in the year 2511, 3 years after the Aegis  7 incident Isaac Clarke is held in a mental hospital on the last Fragments of Saturn's moons Titan, diagnosed with PTSD(post traumatic stress disorder) and dementia, almost as soon as the game starts your fighting to find a way off the station. All the events of dead space 2 take place on an earth government metropolis  called the Sprawl . Being that the population is well over a million, the game is filled with many nasty creature's and people. Throughout the game Isaac will meet different character's, all with different motivations, whether that be help Isaac or betray him.

Final rating!

overall dead space 2 is a fun game, it can scare you and doesn't use cheap jump scares, the gameplay and storyline are quite original. there are no glitches or bugs that i have encountered unlike the previous dead space game which was quite full of bugs and glitches. Overall I'm happy with the job the developers did with the game as its much more evolved and fun to play.

I'm a person that like's gaming, everything from dragon age to call of duty and then finally dead space, but these are not all the games i like to play. i will most likely make a list of games i play and my opinions about them in the following months from now.
